Leaving home for the first time to
go to Uni can be really hard, and it comes with plenty of worries. Cooking,
cleaning, studying are some of them. But what about clothes?
People say it is
superficial to judge someone by the way they dress, but to be honest clothes do
actually matter. Let’s admit it!
Clothes are one of the
first things that your fellow freshers will notice about you and your style can
tell a lot about you as a person. Clothes can usually be the reflection of our
mood, our interests and even of our personality.
Uni is a big place and
there you will meet all kinds of people. Whatever your style is, simple and
casual, girly and flirty, sporty, punk, hippie chic or sophisticated, you will most
definitely find someone else with a similar taste in clothes as you. And even
if you don’t, you should know that being different isn’t a bad thing. It simply
means that you are brave enough to be yourself.
So, just remember that
the most important rule when it comes to clothes is to feel great and
comfortable. If you are feeling happy with what you are wearing, then you will
radiate confidence and your new friends would really want to absorb it!

Simple blue or black
jeans are a must have. Skinny jeans can also offer the feel of leggings, but
they still have the look of jeans, and they are pretty comfortable as well.
Look for them in Topshop or Primark for affordable prices.
A lot of girls choose
to wear leggings, because they are quite comfy, but this could be a “dangerous”
outfit! Especially during the morning lectures, when the sun is shining, leggings
can reveal a bit too much… So, you better wear a dress, a skirt or some denim
shorts with your leggings. Just in case.
You can match your jeans with a simple T-shirt. A T-shirt with prints, a crop top, a floral top or an oversized boyfriend T-shirt never goes out of fashion and it is a safe choice. Everyone loves T-shirts! You can also wear a checked or denim shirt on top of it. See at ASOS and River Island.
J.D.Y Knit Jumper, £15 (left),

For the cold days be comfortable, but chic with a cozy jumper or keep warm in a cardigan. Knitwear can either be baggy and laid back, feminine or even sassy and it is massively popular among students. So, you have a lot of options here. Choose what suits you best. Find good prices at ASOS, ZARA, M&S and Esprit.
Don’t forget to bring with you at Uni your jackets and your coat. Waking up early to attend your lectures during the winter months can be really harsh without a warm coat. Anything from denim jackets, varsity jackets, bomber or padded jackets, leather jackets (leather always adds a bit of sassiness into your outfit!), quilted and trench coats, parkas and macs can be stylish, classy and very warm. Wear them during a rainstorm and you can wrap them around your waist when the sun comes out. You are most likely to find some good ones at Warehouse.

If all of the above seem
too much for you and you don’t really bother to make an effort, then you can just
wear your jogging bottoms and a simple hoodie. A lot of students prefer to wear
this kind of clothing when they are on campus. Either because it is very
comfortable or because they have lots of sport activities.
Going to Uni can be a big change for many students. So, it is also an opportunity to change your wardrobe and reinvent your personal style. Don’t be afraid to risk with your outfits and try new things. You never know, but you may create a new trend!
Never forget to wear
what makes you feel good. Use your own unique style, be creative, don’t follow
fashion trends blindly and remember that there are no rules when it comes to
fashion. If something makes you happy, just wear it!
